About Allied Medical & Rehabilitation in Massapequa and Bellmore

Chiropractic care has been a part of Allied Medical & Rehabilitation, PC ever since it has been established. The idea of having chiropractors working with medical doctors and physical therapists, is an innovative way to deliver conservative care in an integrated multidisciplinary facility.  Dr. Andrew Margulies and Dr. Michael Schonfeld, both chiropractors have been delivering quality chiropractic care to the people of Nassau County since the early 1980's both in private practice and as part of a team.

Our approach is simple. We believe that health is our most valuable possession; and while we generally meet people after they’ve lost their health, our commitment is two-fold:

1. Relief Care in Nassau County
Relief or wellness care... it's your choice.

When many people seek care in our office they have one goal: relief, "GET ME OUT OF PAIN." So that’s where we start! During this initial stage of intensive care, we have several objectives and obligations to you, the patient:

  • Uncover the underlying cause of the health problem
  • Suggest a care plan to produce the fastest results possible
  • Offer ways for you to participate in your recovery
  • Explain the value of post-symptomatic wellness care
2. Wellness Care in Nassau County

We encourage our patients to achieve the highest levels of health they can. Through educational opportunities (like this website), we hope to communicate the value of ongoing preventative and restorative chiropractic care. Our desire is to see our practice members abandon the prevailing sickness care model of health (waiting for symptoms and then taking action), in favor of the emerging wellness model. While we may make suggestions designed to help you regain and keep your health, please remember:

YOU ARE THE BOSS

Regardless of your health goals, please understand that we see ourselves as mere advisers. You’re the boss! It’s your body, your health and your future. Our job is to offer you the finest chiropractic care possible, and it’s up to you to decide how much of it you want. You should always feel free to ask questions of your doctors and make informed decisions

Dr. Andrew Asks some important questions of interest to Massapequa and Bellmore residents - Chiropractor Massapequa and Bellmore Dr. Andrew Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
